FRANKI ASHIRUKA

Franki is an award-winning film and TV editor with over 20 years experience in the local and international film industry, working in Kenya, New Zealand, UK and USA.

She is the founder and lead editor of Africa Post Office (APO), a one of a kind film and television post production company based at The Village Creative in Nairobi, Kenya.

Among Franki’s many achievements is three international best editing awards from her Netflix short film ‘Poacher’. A Best TV show award for Fox international Channels TV series ‘Tales from The Bush Larder’ and Best Documentary film award for her feature ‘The Last Fight’. In addition, Franki’s 20 year in the making film ‘When I was Water’ received a special screening at the London’s Black Filmmaker International Film Festival (BFMIFF).

Other notable work includes Sony Televisions’ adaptation of Dragon’s Den, KCB Lions’ Den, CGTN’s three feature length documentaries for their ‘Big Story’ series and BBC’s ‘The Great Kenyan Bake-off’ where besides editing Franki also took on the story producer role as well as supervising up to eight editors.
